Description

StarCare PPEC, a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center serving the Sarasota–Bradenton area, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services to children with medical and developmental needs.

We currently have an established pediatric caseload. All patients receive services at one facility, allowing the therapist to schedule multiple sessions consecutively without traveling between patients’ homes. Flexible part-time, PRN, contract, or independent provider arrangements are available.

Responsibilities:

Perform pediatric speech, language, communication, feeding, and swallowing evaluations, as clinically appropriate.
Develop individualized plans of care and measurable treatment goals.
Provide evidence-based therapy in accordance with physician orders and each child’s clinical needs.
Complete treatment notes, progress reports, reevaluations, and recertification documentation accurately and on time.
Monitor progress and update treatment goals as clinically indicated.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, families, caregivers, and other therapy professionals.
Maintain compliance with Florida licensing, HIPAA, Medicaid, payer, and professional documentation requirements.
Qualifications:

Active Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Pediatric therapy experience.
Current professional liability insurance.
Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
Florida Medicaid enrollment, managed care credentialing, experience with medically complex children, and pediatric feeding or swallowing experience are strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Requirements

Active and unrestricted Florida license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Pediatric therapy experience.
Current professional liability insurance.
Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to evaluate and treat children with medical, neurological, developmental, feeding, swallowing, and communication needs.
Ability to complete evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, reevaluations, and recertification documentation accurately and on time.
Ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, families, caregivers, and other therapy professionals.
Compliance with HIPAA, Florida licensing requirements, Medicaid guidelines, payer requirements, and professional standards.
Reliable transportation and ability to provide services on-site in the Sarasota–Bradenton area.
Preferred:

Active Florida Medicaid provider enrollment.
Credentialing with Florida Medicaid Managed Care plans.
Experience working with medically complex children.
Experience with pediatric feeding and swallowing therapy.
Experience in PPEC, pediatric home health, early intervention, or outpatient pediatric settings.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
