About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and studentfocused instructor to prepare young adults for careers in medical administration. This role is ideal for professionals who understand medical frontoffice operations, industry standards, instructional delivery, and what it takes to support students in gaining skills that lead to certification and employment.
This position is wellsuited for individuals with experience in:
• Medical office administration
• Healthcare customer service or frontoffice operations
• Teaching, training, or instructional delivery
• Medical terminology, insurance, and basic clinical documentation
• Career readiness and employability skill development
• Program planning and handson training environments
You will work closely with academic instructors, career services, Career Technical Training (CTT) leadership, and the Career Development Services System (CDSS) team to ensure students are prepared for certification (CMAA) and successful entry into healthcare careers.
This is an onsite, classroombased role that requires strong communication, subjectmatter expertise, professionalism, and the ability to create an engaging and structured learning environment.
Your instruction directly influences student credential attainment, skill development, employability, and longterm career success.
What You'll Do
Instruction, Classroom Leadership & Skill Development
• Provide instruction in medical office administration, including topics aligned to CMAA certification.
• Lead handson training sessions covering frontoffice procedures and administrative skills.
• Develop, update, and collaborate on curriculum content for medical terminology, administrative procedures, and medical laws.
• Integrate math, reading, and writing concepts into technical training and employability lessons.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student motivation and success.
• Adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and maintain appropriate classroom discipline.
Program Planning, Curriculum Development & Industry Alignment
• Design curriculum within Job Corps standards to meet student learning needs.
• Plan field trips, workshops, guest speakers, and special projects that enhance training.
• Develop and implement Career Technical Skills Training (CTST) projects.
• Maintain an active Industry Advisory Council to ensure programming reflects current industry practices.
• Collaborate with Academic Instructors to reinforce academic skills in a technical setting.
Student Progress, Documentation & Compliance
• Submit Evaluations of Student Progress (ESPs) and documentation required for ETA640 profiles.
• Maintain accurate TARs (Training Achievement Records) and ensure timely completion.
• Record monthly case notes and daily attendance.
• Complete monthly Accommodation Effectiveness Reviews for students with accommodations.
• Identify and prepare students for Advanced Career Training (ACT) and Advanced Training (AT) opportunities; assist them through the process.
Classroom Operations, Safety & Support
• Ensure classroom equipment is maintained, accounted for, and in good condition.
• Participate in the Career Mentoring Team (CMT).
• Support CDSS teams in promoting student job readiness and career pathways.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 23 years of related industry experience required; teaching experience preferred.
• Certified, licensed, or accredited in accordance with state or professional trade requirements.
• CPR certification.
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroommanagement skills.
• Ability to design and deliver curriculum that aligns with industry and Job Corps standards.
• Computer proficiency and strong documentation practices.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (if driving is required).
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. (I9 verification required).
• Ability to pass a preemployment drug test and background check.
