Working at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC)
Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) is a nationally recognized center for patient care, research, and teaching. At the heart of our medical center is our main campus in downtown Minneapolis, which includes a 462-bed acute care hospital and many primary and specialty clinics. Our downtown campus is also home to Minnesota’s largest Emergency Department, where we are ready to provide care for the most critical patients from across the region 24 hours a day, seven days a week as a Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.

Growing Network of Community Clinics
More than a trauma hospital, we are bringing our expertise and services to people outside the downtown area. We operate an expanding system of primary care, specialty, and retail clinics located in neighborhoods across the county.

Academic Medical Center
HCMC is proud to be one of the nation’s premier health care training institutions. Over the years we have trained tens of thousands of medical professionals, helping ensure the future of health care in the Twin Cities and beyond.

State of the Art
Repeatedly named one of America’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, HCMC is continuously looking for ways to do better for the benefit of our patients and families. We were one of the earliest users of electronic health record technology, and continue to invest in our facilities and equipment. We recently completed upgrades to our critical care facilities, including new surgical and medical intensive care units, a new burn center and clinic, and a new center for hyperbaric oxygen and wound healing.

Patient and Family-Centered Care
While state-of-the-art facilities and technology are extremely important in health care today, what is most important to the people who work at Hennepin is our commitment to our patients and families. For every patient, every time, we remain centered around you.
