Description

THE ORGANIZATION

Hively, derived from ‘lively’ and ‘hive’, is a thriving community full of life and energy. Hively’s mission is to strengthen Alameda County families so that everyone in our community can thrive. Hively supports local families through child care stipends, parent education classes, and family classes, in addition to clinical mental health services and daily essentials such as food, diapers, and clothing. No family is turned away due to inability to pay for our services. Each year, we provide nearly 5,000 hours of counseling and 8,000+ hours of education and programming to thousands of local families and children, all to strengthen parent-child bonds. We aim to be the premier mental health service provider for the community. We will help families from all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds thrive by providing a sanctuary in which services are delivered with a high level of empathy and respect. Our clients routinely state that they appreciate our help with their self-awareness, self-worth, communication skills, anxiety, and tools to build support systems.

Fueled by our passion for strengthening thousands of families each year—regardless of ability to pay—we are committed to the idea that mental health is the foundation of a strong family. We were humbled and honored when Assemblyperson Rebecca Bauer-Kahan recognized our work during the pandemic and awarded Hively with the California Nonprofit of the Year Award in 2020. Our staff of 12, along with several licensed clinical therapists and trainees, work from our San Leandro Center. By the end of 2023 we will open two new locations: Pleasanton and Oakland. Hively has big aspirations: to offer services and education through not only traditional methods but also innovative approaches while also serving 200% more Alameda County families.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the CEO, the new Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for managing all clinical services across our San Leandro and forthcoming Oakland and Pleasanton locations-–hiring and supervising staff, managing our clinical intern program, ensuring compliance and clinical documentation, and identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes as we scale our impact and program footprint. Our ideal candidate is both experienced in traditional therapeutic methods and enthusiastic about experimenting with innovative new methods. We seek a leader who will develop and implement a robust innovation strategy for our clinical services through a set of interdependent processes that inform how we search for solutions, synthesize ideas into new concepts, and select new methodologies and tools to pilot and evaluate. Willingness to test and learn by looking beyond existing approaches will advance our team’s urgent vision of mental health access for all.

OUR TEAM: CULTURE AND BENEFITS

At Hively, we know that families are better off when they have the support and resources they need to raise happy, healthy kids. Our committed team includes educators, child care experts, mental health clinicians, and business specialists dedicated to making sure that Alameda County families have the resources they need to thrive. We strive to ensure all staff feel and encourage a sense of belonging, caring, and support. We prioritize learning, listening, and growing together. We offer a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision covered at 100% for the employee and a small cost to add family members. Additional benefits include an Employee Assistance Program, Life and AD&D Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, 403(b) plan and SEP-IRA plan with an employer contribution of 5%, and a generous paid time off policy. This is a hybrid role (on-site and remote) that we anticipate will include 1+ day a week per location. Our employees come to work each day ready to make a difference in the lives of local children and families. We invite you to explore the possibility of making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
