Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates of Maryland, an established specialty practice serving Rockville for over 25 years, is seeking a skilled Perinatal Sonographer. Work with complex maternal-fetal cases in a collaborative, physician-led environment with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology
Position Overview
As a Perinatal Sonographer with MFMofMD, you will be an integral member of our 12-person clinical team, working directly with our maternal-fetal medicine physicians to provide specialized diagnostic imaging for high-risk pregnancies. This position offers clinical variety with direct physician collaboration, and the advanced technology platform necessary for excellence in perinatal sonography.

Primary Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive obstetrical ultrasound examinations utilizing 2D, 3D/4D imaging techniques
- Execute spectral Doppler and color Doppler studies according to clinical protocols
- Provide technical assistance during invasive procedures including chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and amniocentesis
- Document and archive diagnostic images with appropriate patient identification and technical parameters
- Communicate examination findings to physicians for clinical interpretation and patient management
- Maintain quality assurance standards and participate in equipment calibration and maintenance protocols
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Current ARDMS certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated proficiency with ultrasound technology and imaging software
- Strong organizational capabilities and attention to diagnostic detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction and clinical documentation
- Ability to maintain professional composure and efficiency in a fast-paced clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) and Nasal Bone (NB) certification for first-trimester screening (may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Fetal Echocardiography certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in perinatal or high-risk obstetrical sonography
