We are a growing ophthalmology-focused practice seeking a licensed Optometrist to join our team in Orange County and Los Angeles County. This role is centered on clinical care and surgical co-management, working closely with ophthalmologists in a collaborative, team-based environment. This position does not include routine refractions, contact lens fittings, or optical responsibilities—allowing you to focus on patient care, disease management, and perioperative support
Position Overview
The Optometrist will play a key role in patient care by supporting pre-operative evaluations, post-operative management, and ongoing ocular health monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who prefers a clinical, medically oriented workflow without optical duties.
Key Responsibilities Conduct patient evaluations and follow-up care in coordination with ophthalmologists Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative care (e.g., cataract surgery patients) Monitor patient progress and identify any complications requiring escalation Educate patients on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and eye health Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (EMR) Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program Active California Optometry License (required)
