St. Josephs Health is seeking an experienced Board Certified OB/GYN Physician for a hybrid leadership opportunity. This unique role combines 0.9 FTE Laborist clinical duties with 0.1 FTE Medical Director administrative leadership duties, offering the opportunity to practice high quality obstetrics while helping shape the strategic direction, quality, and culture of our robust OB/GYN program. Position Details:
Seven 24 hour shifts per month (full time equivalent) with no additional call, offering a work-life balance advantage
Management of laboring patients, including routine and complex deliveries
Supported by a strong team of midwives, OB/GYN partners, and subspecialists
Access to robotics, advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and full gynecologic surgical support
Medical Director Leadership Responsibilities:
Partner with administrative leadership to oversee departmental operations including department budgeting, policy development, and protocol updates
Lead quality improvement initiatives, utilization review, and clinical performance metrics
Oversee clinical documentation, care planning, and peer review
Participate in Provider recruitment, onboarding, mentorship and performance review
Ensure a patient centered, high quality standard of care across the division
Opportunity Highlights:
Provide in hospital obstetric coverage for low to high-risk deliveries at St. Josephs Hospital
Opportunity to develop and lead a robust Women & Infants service line
Level III NICU at St. Josephs Hospital
Level III Ultrasound services, strong MFM Physician support and midwifery support (inpatient, full scope midwifery, and laborist coverage)
Access to robotics, advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and full gynecologic surgical support
Supportive leadership that prioritizes sustainability and Provider well being
System volume: 1,600 deliveries annually
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Laborist or obstetric focused experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated interest or experience in leadership and quality initiatives
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problemsolving skills
Commitment to high-quality, patient centered care
Recruitment Package:
Compensation: $325,000-$340,000 per year The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, quality incentives, extra shifts, or other cash compensation. Compensation may vary based on experience and other factors in accordance with state law.
$25,000 starting bonus
