Directs and maintains overall responsibility for Clinical Documentation Integrity operations and across the entities of Baptist Healthcare System ensuring that departmental, facility and system goals and objectives are met. Directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized policies, procedures, and strategies including workflow for CDI functions. Identifies and implements best practices to promote and continuously improve customer service, efficiency, compliance, and data integrity in a manner consistent with the operational needs of the local markets. Effectively oversees, directs, and controls the functions and activities of the CDI program within the operational and financial parameters as set forth by the BHS and hospital policies and procedures, Medical Staff Bylaws, Organization and Functions, and regulatory agency requirements and State and Federal law. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the BHS Corporate Responsibility Program.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree Five years acute health care nursing including three years of clinical documentation integrity experience. Knowledge of ICD10-CM coding principles and procedures, DRG assignment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, data entry and data retrieval systems, Encoder, and internet. Valid Kentucky or Indiana Licensure as a Registered Nurse, CCDS and/or CDIP, member of ACDIS or AHIMA
