Job Ad — Full-Time Psychiatrist 40 Hours Per Week - On-Site/Telemed
Location: McLennan County Jail | Waco, TX

Compensation: Up to $300,000 per year (salary commensurate with experience)
Position Snapshot
TK Health Clinics is expanding its correctional mental-health team and is seeking a compassionate, board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive care to adults at McLennan County Jail. You’ll work 40 hours per week on-site and via telemedicine, giving you a balanced schedule while making a real impact on an underserved population.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental disorders, and formulate treatment plans
Provide psychopharmacology management, including initiation and monitoring of medications
Lead crisis-intervention and suicide-prevention efforts in collaboration with nursing and custody staff
Coordinate continuity of care with on-site counselors, medical providers, and community agencies for discharge planning
Maintain complete, timely clinical documentation that meets NCCHC and state standards
Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and quality-improvement initiatives
Offer clinical guidance to mid-level practitioners and contribute to staff training as needed
Required Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain) and DEA registration
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry
Current BLS/ACLS; familiarity with evidence-based practices in correctional or forensic psychiatry preferred
