Outpatient Psychiatrist – Fort HealthCare Behavioral Health
Location: Fort Atkinson, WI
Position Type: Full-Time

The Outpatient Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management for patients in an outpatient clinical setting. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based, patient-centered mental health care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support long-term recovery and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring efficacy and side effects
Provide supportive psychotherapy as appropriate
Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Ensure compliance with ethical standards, state regulations, and organizational policies
Provide crisis intervention and referrals to higher levels of care when indicated
Participate in case conferences, clinical meetings, and quality improvement activities

Adults / Children & Adolescents / Geriatric
Common conditions treated may include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders
Outpatient clinic setting
4-5 clinic days
Limited on-call requirements (telephone)
In-person, hybrid, or telepsychiatry options may be available
Compensation & Benefits:
Total annual compensation range: $300,000+ plus sign-on bonus

Requirements
Qualifications Required
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active (or eligible) state medical license
DEA registration
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology
Preferred
Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings
Subspecialty training (e.g., Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry)
Skills & Competencies
Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Patient-centered and culturally competent approach to care
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Time management and organizational skills
Work Environment & Schedule
