CONFIDENTIAL: Health Information Manager (HIM Manager)
A licensed healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Health Information Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Health Information Department in a regulated hospital setting.
Position Overview
The HIM Manager ensures the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and timely completion of medical records in compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. This role collaborates with clinical leaders and hospital management to support regulatory compliance, documentation quality, and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Health Information Department
- Oversee paper based medical record organization, completion, retention, and retrieval
- Ensure timely record completion and management of deficiencies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, LDH, and accreditation standards
- Support audits, reporting, and survey readiness
- Supervise, train, and develop Health Information staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve documentation practices

Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or related healthcare field required
- AHIMA credential required (RHIA or RHIT) or equivalent per LDH standards
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in health information or medical records in a licensed healthcare setting
- Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of LDH regulations, HIPAA, and accreditation standards
- Behavioral health experience preferred
