Position Summary
An exciting new position is being offered in the state of Alabama! Orlando Health is excited to open a position that will be joining an executive team with a mission driven focus, a desire for success and to pave the way for others to follow! The Director, Clinical Documentation Excellence (Registered Nurse), is a full-time, boots on the ground position with travel to our Alabama hospitals. The role is critical in driving documentation accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across all of our Alabama facilities. Visibility and engagement are essential—this leader will frequently travel to each location to build relationships, influence decision-making, and ensure alignment with Orlando Health organizational model, goals and outcomes, across the Revenue Management areas. An empowering position with key metrics, data mining, support, education and collaboration as key attributes. Must live in Alabama to ensure visibility and relationship building can ensue.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Influence: Serve as the face of the Revenue Management department to Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Nursing Officers, and other senior leaders, demonstrating proven credibility and strategic insight. Operational Oversight: Clinical Documentation Excellence program, HIM and Hospital Coding vendor areas across all facilities, ensuring accuracy of the story of our patients for a complete and accurate medical records on all levels including reimbursement, clinical outcomes, continuity of care, risk adjusting and CMS 5 Star journey. Vendor and Coding Management Oversight: Oversee vendor relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to align goals and outcomes that align with the Orlando Health model in the CDE, HIM and Hospital Coding areas. Team Leadership: Work in collaboration with vendor management of the Clinical Documentation Excellence staff, HIM and Hospital Coding, fostering collaboration and accountability. Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage and monitor metrics and analytics to identify improvement opportunities and influence executive decisions. etc. Education and Engagement: Provide ongoing training and serve as a subject matter expert for clinical documentation standards.

Requirements
Experience/Education/Training: *Master’s prepared clinician preferred; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required (or equivalent experience in Clinical Documentation Excellence considered).
Minimum of one of the following certifications: *Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist by the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) *Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional by the American Health Information Management Association (CDIP) *Certified Professional Coder by the American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC) *Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Experience (Minimum): *Minimum five (5) years of acute care hospital nursing experience. *Two (2) years of Clinical Documentation Excellence experience in an acute care setting. *One (1) year of leadership experience or management training.
